Code of Conduct - Question & Answers

7a. Gifts - April 2005

Question 1:
I run a patient support program for a Pharma client for which the patients are asked to submit proof that they are on the medication on a yearly basis to maintain eligibility for the program. As a thank you for submitting their proof, my client would like to send a small premium with the name of the medication on it. Is this acceptable? Upon discussing with PAAB, their response was to forward the question to RX&D.

Response:
This practice is not acceptable under section 7 of the Code, as it will have a bearing on the compliance aspect of the program in question.

Revised: June 06, 2005
